Although Higher Ground serves campers of all ages, we have carved out a special niche as a camp whose heart is set on helping fatherless children and single moms. Higher Ground aims to share God the Father’s love with all of the children who attend camp each summer. As part of this approach, Higher Ground places an emphasis on developing deep, meaningful, and lasting relationships with campers, staff, and volunteers.
Volunteer Opportunities
Program Team
- Stay overnight at camp and serve for a full program week.
- Serve as a cabin leader for youth or a mentor for single mom families.
- Build deep connections with campers and point them to relationship with Jesus Christ.
Work Week
- Join us in preparing for an unforgettable experience! Be part of the action as we open up camp: clean, organize, and set the stage for an amazing adventure.
- Play a vital role in ensuring every detail is perfected, contributing to a seamless and enjoyable camp experience for all.
Prayer
- Facilitate and lead prayer sessions or circles, providing spiritual guidance and support for camp participants.
- Organize and coordinate prayer activities, ensuring that spiritual needs are met and fostering a supportive atmosphere within the camp community.
Mentoring
- Foster positive one-on-one relationships and be a role model.
