Higher Ground at Lake Louise rests quietly in a soft blanket of snow. The first camp is still three months away. We’re excited about our 84th year of leading campers to know God, love God, and serve God through faith in Jesus Christ. We know the Father has a very special plan for our campers – the children of God.

That said, we’re also monitoring the Coronavirus outbreak right along with you. First, let us share that Higher Ground at Lake Louise has been praying for you through this unprecedented time. We, like you, have seen our normal lives interrupted by the virus. We know the importance of prayer and the assurance that God is in control.

The Bible tells us to “fear not” some 80 times, and the beginning of Psalm 91 reminds us: Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Still, your concern is a real, and it likely extends beyond the virus itself. You may be juggling daycare as a result of school closing, attempting to mobilize your work, figuring out the impact on finances, and adjusting to daily life as a result of mandated closings to contain the virus.

We are walking in faith and look forward to serving your family this summer.  We are ready to hear the sounds of cars driving down the long driveway and the voices of campers running around the grounds!   We pray that by the time camp comes around, your kids will be ready for a week of fun and sun at Higher Ground at Lake Louise, and you’ll be ready for some quiet!

We’re adopting new policies on how we clean and sanitize; it will help us raise the bar on how we prepare a wonderful camp experience for your family.

Our board and staff will continue to pray for God’s protection and provision for you and your family over the next days and weeks ahead. We ask that you would keep the camp in prayer as well. We submit in confidence that “… in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

God bless you, your kids, and your family and friends. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or comments as we move forward.

In faith,

John McLintock
